Kimo is a happy and enthusiastic young male (~5 mos old) who loves to play and SWIM! He can be a little shy in new situations but quickly warms up. He’s really good with other dogs of all sizes and kids. We haven’t witnessed any issues around cats.

Kimo came to us very shy and unsure, we are seeing his confidence build daily. He is now sleeping in a crate at night, eating well and learning his basic obedience and manners. He is not housetrained but is starting to sit at the door to go out. He is teething and loves to chew, so he needs lots of supervision to ensure that he’s chewing the right stuff!

He will need a playful and consistent home that is prepared to invest lots of time in this young boy to make sure he’s the very best adult Malamute out there! Kimo will benefit from attending training classes with his new owners.

If you are interested in adopting a malamute from the AMHL, please complete our application form at:

If you have already been approved to adopt from the AMHL and have questions about Kimo, please contact Tracey at: quebec@malamuterescue.com

Given that it is impossible to predict with complete accuracy how any dog will react in a given situation, without completeknowledge of its life experiences, the AMHL urges the adopter to exercise caution in introducing the dog tonew situations until the dog has become fully adjusted to its new environment and the adopter has had an opportunity to become familiar with the dog's unique personality.
