Kita is a 1 1/2 year old intact male malamute/husky mix, who will be neutered Dec 21, 2012. He has been here since December 8, 2012.

After about a year, with Kita escaping from his owner's yard enclosure at least 3 times, he decided he couldn’t keep him so would return him to his breeder and/or try to place him; both attempts were unsuccessful.

He is a very quiet, calm dog in our indoor runs, but continually digs and pushes at the fence to escape our outdoor runs. He has scratched his face and broken a canine tooth here at the shelter in his escape attempts. We are having the tooth removed when he is neutered.

Of the 2 malamutes at the shelter, we are more desperate to get Kita a home as he needs to get exercise and spend time outdoors. We are not equipped to kennel him outdoors safely and our capacity for exercising him is 20 minutes 4-5 times a week. Jordan is content to run in our outdoor dog yard and seems happy here.

If you can provide Kita with a loving home, please contact us ASAP.
